Our company develops technology for the major well known online game studios and publishers across the USA, Europe, and the world.
We are building the next generation of a scalable online backend platform for AAA games that includes the fully licensable source code as well as offering specialized engineers to customize the code for a studio's game so they can focus on making their game fun.
While many games can use off the shelf solutions and inject simple logic into a closed source backend platforms, we believe this leads to overly complex logic that pushes logic on to the game client which is harder to update quickly. For this reason we believe that having the full source code and development resources to tailor it to a specific game leads to a better player experience and is one of the core benefits of our platform.
You will work mainly with game studio clients to help design, build, and advise on integrating highly scalable game clients with our tools and backend services in every step of development phases such as testing, staging, and production. Some travel is required for this position to client locations.
Design and build UE game client modules to interact with backend services
Work with other engineers to integrate the modules into game client
Design and build plugins for UE editor to be used by game engineers to integrate their game with our services
Develop build tools for game engineers to integrate UE build system with our platform tools
3+ years UE
Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Prior experience developing UE games
Solid understanding of low-level architecture
Solid troubleshooting skills
Strong computer science and engineering background
Forward thinking and up to date on current and emerging architecture patterns
Able to work with clients under tight deadlines, on distributed teams with fluid requirements
Nice to Haves
Familiarity with cloud web services
AAA game studio experience
Knowledge about Linux
Developed UE clients libraries that consume web services
